The one where Bill comes home...

Bill is back safely and all has gone well - he now knows all about the insides of laser printers - thrilling, isn't it?

Anyway I have made efforts to give Tamsin much more attention today, including some particularly concentrated one-to-one time just before lunch. It will be interesting to see if continuing to do this will ease the separation anxiety she has been showing occasionally lately, and reduce the general clinginess and demandingness. I just have to try to overcome my extreme boredom at playing 3-year old games ... and try to steer it to activities I find more acceptable like reading to her, doing jigsaws or some craft stuff.

Yes, we have similar problems here, in that I find I'm so reluctant to take part in some 3-yr old stuff and also notice the bad effects if not enough one-to-one time is offered.
Like you I would happily do reading and jigsaws any time. But I think it's almost that she needs to see me doing some things that she chooses herself that I would never choose. So sometimes I do just join in with the repetitive games she initiates for a while.
I find her such a mixture at this age. Sometimes there are glimpses of the 5-yr old to come, but then she almost scares herself by being so mature and has to throw herself around on the floor for a bit shouting something silly over and over again. (LOL that's not one I generally join in with, though I probably should!)
