These 3 are Cotswold Legbars and lay lovely pale blue eggs - you may be able to buy them at your supermarket in a blue box under the Clarence Court label. We haven't thought of names for them yet - ideas in the comments box, please!

Without planning to, it seems I am going against the mainstream in many areas of my life. Home-birth, cloth nappies, attachment parenting, long-term breastfeeding, formerly home-educating and Christian! So here's the blog of me, DH Bill, DD Jade (June '01) and DD Shannon (Nov '04).

Doesn't Tamsin have any ideas?!
Can't say I've ever wanted chickens but I can kind of see the attraction ... hope you're enjoying them, anyway!
OK, that's it. The next family addition is going to be MALE. I would have liked to say "more additions over my dead body", but I already know that with a house full of females there's no point in trying to be masterful any more. I'm doomed, but at least I will feel that I'm not completely alone.
Always liked chickens I am hoping to get some soon
They look lovely.
Those are lovely hens. Where did you get them? Are they laying for you yet? Jonathan would like to get some that lay blue eggs.
We have a policy of not naming chickens, partly in case they die suddenly of natural causes and partly in case we eat them :)
We got them from www.legbarsofbroadway, which is the actual Clarence Court egg-producing place. There is a webcam at www.clarencecourt.co.uk/hencam. Two of them are laying so far.
I'm not asking Tamsin to choose names because she'd just choose Dora, Boots and Diego, or Thomas, James and Percy.....!!!
How about Annie, Clarabel and, erm, is there another girl?!!! Not Thomas fans here, sorry!
I really like the idea of chickens - not a possibility in this house / garden sadly but maybe one day..
