Apart from frustration this morning having lost several things which I needed to go out and "run errands", e.g. documents for re-taxing the car, my cheque book, the phone etc, and then finding out when I got the Post Office that I had the "Schedule" of motor insurance and not the "Certificate" (GRRR!!!!), nevertheless today feels quite good.
I've had a visit from my midwife, bringing the home delivery pack, together with one of those precious canisters of gas & air - although frustratingly not with an adapter/mask yet so I can't practise....!!! Heartbeat sounds good, strong and regular, not like when I was expecting Tamsin when her HB was very erratic, because I was so stressed (terrified something would go wrong). The midwives seem to all hope to be the one attending me because I have been doing this self-hypnosis for birth course and they're all fascinated as to how it will go, as I am as well!
Also, the EO pack has arrived, so I am gradually reading through all the bits and pieces, while Tamsin is happily watching a video of Thomas the Tank Engine (her favourite).

Oh, I'm interested in your hypnosis experience - I did relaxation classes with a consultant anaesthetist (sp) before Big and I'm convinced that most of my difficulties then were caused by the fact that I was so relaxed, no one believed I was in labour. He had retired by the time I was having Small, and I found a different hypnotherapist, but didn't get on with the system nearly as well as it had me imagining myself surrounded by red clouds...and I don't really do visual imagination!
Barbara, I haven't a clue - I wasn't expecting the gas & air until delivery time, but she just brought it with the rest of the delivery pack. It's sealed, though, with no connector, so there's no way to use it....
Jax, It's very encouraging to know that you were able to stay extremely relaxed even during a first birth - I'm not certain how the hypnosis is working, but am hopeful of something good from it.
